Description

The MRI Whole Spine report typically includes a detailed description and analysis of the images obtained during the MRI scan. The report will provide information on the different regions of the spine, including the cervical (neck), thoracic (upper back), and lumbar (lower back) regions, and may include the sacral region as well.

The report may contain the following information:

  1. Description of the spinal cord and nerve roots: The report will provide a detailed analysis of the spinal cord and nerve roots, looking for any abnormalities, such as compression, inflammation, or injury.
  2. Description of the vertebral bodies: The report will describe the appearance of the bones in the spine, including the vertebral bodies, the spinal processes, and the intervertebral discs.
  3. Description of the soft tissues: The report will describe the appearance of the soft tissues, including the muscles, ligaments, and tendons, looking for any abnormalities, such as swelling, inflammation, or tears.
  4. Diagnosis: The report will provide a diagnosis based on the MRI findings. This may include conditions such as spinal cord injuries, herniated discs, tumors, spinal stenosis, infections, or degenerative diseases such as osteoarthritis.
  5. Recommendations: The report may include recommendations for further testing, such as additional imaging studies or laboratory tests, or for treatment options, such as medication, physical therapy, or surgery.

The MRI Whole Spine report is typically prepared by a radiologist, who is a medical professional specialized in interpreting medical images, and is then provided to the patient’s referring healthcare provider for further evaluation and management.
